Is it just me or does anybody else think Acidic rain should decrease mana before doing spell damage? Don't get me wrong ... I love it when my opponent thinks he/she will kill my Phoenix using Acidic Rain; only to find out that it's still kicking... but changing it as stated above would add another layer of strategy that would make the game just a little more interesting.
Btw... just a side note .... in my culture the Troll is sacred. Sorta like the cow in Hindi or bhudist culture (not sure which... and I'm done asking Siri anything... I still say mr Rodgers was a marine corp sniper.. stuff it Siri!) There is one exception though... the Troll is invincible according to the Book of Schmegeggi (like your bible... except non fiction). While I do appreciate how you made the Troll somewhat more resilient than most cards, 4 life per turn is far from invincible. I ask kindly that you either remove the troll from this game or make it more godly ... perhaps 20 attack and can't take damage from any source. 2 ways to look at this... it either breaks the game or the gods are smiling on you whenever you get the troll.
My sincerest thanks for taking this into consideration. It's nice to see that there are still people that are considerate of different cultures in this post Obama world.
Ps... Tornado is a spring breeze to a Troll (nice try). Also troll needs to do what I call soul chrushing damage. Sorry Phoenix. No Soul. No rebirth. Sorcery 8... just makes him angry. Those little vampire initiate dudes...again .. nice try but the vampire elder (elder infers wisdom to me) knows better than to mess with a troll so he immediately flees...mind stealer.. Soul crushing damage should cover that also... I just want to make the devs job easier... if there are any questions left unanswered... please let me know, I am open to suggestions.
Again... I am thankful for the supportive community this game fosters... from the players, to the moderators, and last, but not least, the developers. Nothing but good vibes. Peace brothers and Sisters.

I find it rather amusing, in a meta way, that your trolly suggestion actually included the Troll. I also like your use of "schmegegge" (spelled with no i's), the Yiddish word for 'nonsense'. I heard that a lot growing up in a Jewish family =)
As far as Acidic Rain - trying to think through any other cards this would effect. Do any cards have on-death effects that interact with their owner's mana besides Phoenix? Anyhow, I don't have much of an opinion about whether Phoenix should be easy to kill when hit with an Acidic Rain while at 10 Fire - it would add a bit of mindgaming which I like, but would also blur the "rush to 10 Fire" strategy for Phoenix which at this point is a very fair tactic anyhow. It's doubtful to happen this far after release since it's neither a bug nor a serious balance issue, but if it were up to a vote and I had to cast one, I'd agree that the mana loss should happen first. Well, looks like someone regenerates 4 hp per turn

i wouldn't mind the mana loss to happen first either. as much as phoenix is not such a strong card, losing to it is one of the more frustrating way to lose hehe, having one more out against it could be okay.
as for a side effect, think of cards giving mana when they die, Blood 3 (devoted servant) or Holy 2 (monk) comes to mind. Today casting Acidic Rain if they have 0 of that mana means they go up X mana, then lower 1. If you change the mana loss to happen first, the opponent will get the full mana gain from its loss.
that would also make acidic rain slightly less good versus cards like Death 6 (keeper of death) or Goblin 5 (goblin looter), for similar reasons (potential to gain more mana).
so the side effects all render acidic rain slightly less good, albeit very slightly.
however, all bing said, at this point spectromancer is probably set in stone like it is for eternity hehe, don't expect much tweaking in the coming decades :p
ps: troll is fine. GarryHe | 2017-05-26 22:31:41 |

In my culture dragons don't have claws and they fly without wings. This is SACRED and like you, I'm serious offended by this game too. Why don't we just both deleted the game and I guess things will be just fine. Out of sight out of mind. :D |
